Class Topics:
The Hands on Troubleshooting for AC Drives class is designed for technicians and engineers that need to know the basic theory of troubleshooting a Yaskawa variable speed drive (P7, F7, G7 and stand alone E7). Class topics include but are not limited to:
- ISW Crash Course
- Navigating the Digital Operator
- Wire power input and output to motor.
- Control Wiring, inputs and outputs
- Draw and wire speed pot, Run command
- External to Drive
- Using fault codes to troubleshoot
- Flowchart usage explanation
- “Sabotage” exercises (instructor creates a problem, student must find it)
- Internal to Drive
- Basic PWM schematic
- Elementary Actual drive schematic
- Checks without power
- Checks with power

Class Materials:
Students will receive a copy of the class training manual as well as selected product user and instruction manuals in paper and/or electronic format. |

Prerequisites:
At least some prior experience with programming of any of Yaskawa Generation 7 Drives (P7, F7, G7). You should also possess a basic knowledge of motors and inverters.
It is highly recommended to review the Motor and Drive Basics e-Learning Module (eLM.AFD.03.MotorandDriveBasics) before attending this class.
In addition to the eLearning module listed above, you must complete the following eLearning Modules (eLMTM) and submit the Certification tests:
- Download the Troubleshooting for the Machine Operator for F7, P7 and G7 Drives and test (eLM.AFD7.11)

| Class Format: |
| This class runs from 8:30 to 5:00 pm each day, with a one-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. The class consists of approximately 30% lecture and 70% hands-on exercises. Special emphasis is placed on the hands-on portion of this class. |
Due to the equipment required, this class is not available on-site.
Continuing Education Units:
Continuing Education Units will be awarded to those students that attend this training class in its entirety and pass the certification test with a score of 90% or better. Yaskawa does not provide partial CEU credits for less than 100% attendance. As an IACET Authorized Provider, Yaskawa America Inc. offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. Yaskawa America, Inc. is authorized by IACET to offer 2.1 CEUs for this program.

To enroll in any class, call Technical Training Services at 1-800-YASKAWA (927-5292) dial 4 or email training@yaskawa.com. Please have a PO ready when you call. Class sizes are limited, so call early to reserve your seat.
PO must be net 30 days.
Cancellation Policy:
Yaskawa reserves the right to cancel a scheduled class at anytime due to low enrollment. In this situation the student will be asked to reschedule or the tuition cost will be refunded. Yaskawa is not liable for any charges incurred by the customer (i.e.-airline, hotel, and rental car) due to cancellation.
Cancellation fee for customers: if canceling within 1 week of the scheduled class is 50% of the total.
Cancellation fee for ASC/Partners: if canceling within 1 week of the scheduled class is 100% of the total.
